CABK Autumn Conference Bursary Scheme 2019

Tuesday, March 19, 2019 20:30 | Anonymous member (Administrator)

The Central Association of Bee-Keepers (CABK) invites applications from young beekeepers to participate in the CABK Autumn Conference; all lectures, accommodation and meals inclusive.

The Conference will be held at the Woodside Hotel in Kenilworth, Warwickshire, a very comfortable hotel specialising in meetings and conferences, from Friday afternoon until Sunday lunchtime 15th – 17th November 2019. There will be 7 lectures at a relaxed pace over the 3 days with plenty of time to network with other beekeepers and with the researchers.

The CABK aims “To bring science to the beekeeper” and arranges several meetings where active bee-researchers share their findings with CABK members. The Autumn Conference is the highlight of the year and we would like to invite a younger beekeeper (18-25 years of age on 15th November 2019) to attend, without charge. All accommodation and meals will be included, the hotel has a pool and fitness room, bars and lounges. Travel is not included.

This opportunity should appeal to anyone who is interested in the science behind beekeeping or perhaps might be interested in pursuing a career in social insect research.

All applications will be acknowledged and one will be selected and announced on Friday 25th October at the National Honey Show.

The selection process will be based upon a short statement from the candidate, detailing the way or ways in which attendance at the CABK Conference might further either their own or their local Association’s educational provision.

Please complete the Application Form and submit it to the CABK Secretary before October 1st 2019.
