A Note from David Wright, SBA - Module Examinations 21 March

From David Wright, SBA

This is a note for all who are planning to take the SBA module exams on Saturday 21 March and those who are planning to invigilate.

As the Coronavirus epidemic develops, the UK and Scottish Governments have issued a number of proposals to slow spread and to deal with the consequences of increasing involvement of the population. However, at the time of writing none of these actually affect the module exams. We are aware of the amount of preparation by candidates and are reluctant to cancel the exams unnecessarily. Thus, the papers and instructions have been sent out to invigilators in readiness for the exams next Saturday.

However, we recognise that circumstances may very well change in the next week and will offer advice accordingly

We also recognise that individual areas of the country may face difficulties with invigilators or exam arrangements and some venues may have to be cancelled. We are also clear that candidates will wish to make their own decisions and that some may prefer to stay away. In view of these circumstances, it has been agreed that any candidates who do not sit their module exam in March will automatically receive a free transfer of their entry to November.

Please let me know if you can think I can be of help. My home telephone number is 0131 552 3439 and mobile 07790 215 867. I would very much appreciate being kept informed (by email or telephone) of any change in arrangements planned by candidate or invigilator.

David Wright 15 March 2020
