Malcolm Myriam & Lorraine at Tesco

Our Bee Academy Project was given some added publicity when we spent Friday morning at the Dalkeith Hardengreen Superstore to encourage shoppers to support us by giving us their vote in the Tesco Bags of Help latest voting round. We are up against a local primary school and a local Rainbow group.

Those of you living in the Dalkeith area please shop local, shop Tesco and vote for us with the blue tokens available at the checkout.

Fears that Asian hornets could decimate UK bee colonies have risen after a sighting of the hornet in Cornwall. It was seen at Fowey. It is the fourth confirmed sighting in the UK since 2016.

The timing is significant because queens establish nests at this time of year.

One Asian hornet can kill 500 bees a day and a nest of hornets can contain up to 6,000 workers.
