Today is World Bee Day - 20 May 2026. With the theme “Bee together for people and the planet – a partnership that sustains us all,”

The theme is a powerful reminder that the health of bees, people, and the natural world are deeply connected and that real change happens when we work together.

We must all do what we can to BEE together.

Indigenous communities in the Peruvian Amazon often rely heavily on small-scale farming for income, requiring them to clear land.

Stingless beekeeping creates income without forest loss, empowering communities to protect their environment.

Bees for Development are fundraising so that they can:

Support 200 people to develop sustainable livelihoods through stingless beekeeping

Train Indigenous Stingless Bee Champions in three regions of Peru

Develop local and national markets for stingless bee products

Protect stingless bees and their habitats

Engage schools and young people through stingless bee education

Make a donation between 22–29 April 2026 and all donations will be doubled!
